Day 1 - Overnight Flight

Depart on your overnight flight to Europe to begin your Grand European Discovery - London to Paris Tour.

 

Day 2 - Arrive in London

Upon arrival in London meet your Tour Director and check into your hotel for a two-night stay in the great city of London. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Dinner to get acquainted with your fellow travelers. (D)

 

Day 3 - London Sightseeing

After breakfast enjoy a London City Tour to see such famous landmarks such as Kensington Palace, the Tower of London, Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament & Big Ben beside the River Thames. Also see Westminster Abbey and the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace (if held). Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Tonight enjoy dinner on your own in one of London’s restaurants. (B)

 

Day 4 - London - Eurostar train to Brussels - Amsterdam

Today head for the railway station to board the high-speed Eurostar Train to Brussels, Belgium. From here, a comfortable drive will bring you to Amsterdam, Holland’s 700-year-old capital. Enjoy an Amsterdam Canal Cruise aboard a glass-roofed boat, the best way to get a good impression of how Amsterdam was built and how much still remains from the Golden Age. Later transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay. Tonight enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers in this exciting and historic city. (B,D)

 

Day 5 - Amsterdam at Leisure

Today enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Amsterdam’s artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades, legacies of the city’s 17th-century Golden Age. Its Museum District houses the Van Gogh Museum, works by Rembrandt and Vermeer at the Rijksmuseum, and modern art at the Stedelijk. Cycling is key to the city’s character, and there are numerous bike paths. An optional excursion will be offered. (B)


Day 6 - Amsterdam - Heidelberg

Today travel to the Dutch region near Arnhem, best known as the locale of A Bridge Too Far, and enter Germany. Today’s highlight is a romantic Rhine River Cruise along the most scenic part of the river with its centuries-old castles. Continue to Heidelberg for a pleasant walk through the Old Town to the Marktplatz (market square) to see and take pictures of the famous red-walled ruins of Heidelberg Castle. Later enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers. (B,D)

Day 7 - Heidelberg - Black Forest - Rhine Falls - Lucerne, Switzerland

Enter the lush valleys and pine-clad hills of the Black Forest, famous for cuckoo clocks. Enjoy a Black Forest Experience featuring a visit to local woodcarver and see samples of his work. On the Swiss border, stop at thundering Rhine Falls before continuing into picturesque Switzerland. Arrive Lucerne, Switzerland and check into your hotel for a two-night stay. This evening enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)

 

Day 8 - Lucerne Sightseeing

This morning enjoy a walking Lucerne City Tour. Lucerne is situated in the geographical heart of Switzerland and poetically described by Alexandre Dumas as “a pearl in the world’s most beautiful oyster”. Walk along the shores of beautiful Lake Lucerne, cross the famous wooden Chapel Bridge, see the Lion Monument and more. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore on your own. An optional excursion will be available this afternoon.       (B)

 

Day 9 - Lucerne - Paris

Today travel past the vineyards of the Burgundy Wine Region with views of beautiful castles and Fontainebleau Forest. Arrive in Paris and check into your hotel for a two night stay. Paris, France’s capital, is a global center for art, fashion, gastronomy and culture. Its 19th-century cityscape is crisscrossed by wide boulevards and the River Seine. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the “City of Light” on your own. (B)

 

Day 10 - Paris Sightseeing

Today enjoy a Paris City Tour and see such major landmarks as the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Paris Opera House, Bastille Square, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees and the Eiffel Tower. Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner at a popular local restaurant. Following dinner, experience the “city of lights” as you enjoy a scenic Seine River Cruise offering spectacular views of this magnificent city. (B,D)


Day 11 - Paris - Flight Home

Transfer to the airport and fly home filled with wonderful memories of your Grand European Discovery - London to Paris Tour. (B)
